ACTION /// UNSHAKEN - HELPING HAITI RECOVER BY PROVIDING LONG-TERM CLEAN WATER SOLUTIONS

UNSHAKEN

A Campaign with charity:water and Publishers with a Purpose
Unshaken
When disaster strikes, we count on media to keep us informed. But then what? In the wake of Haiti's devastating earthquake in January, one group of publishers is proving that the media can do more than just broadcast the news -- it can help the recovery.
Publishers with a Purpose is a group of online publishers (with which TBD is a happy partner) who have pledged 5% of their total ad inventory to selected nonprofits and social causes, with the shared goal of making a difference. In honor of World Water Day (which was last Monday), PWP is partnering with charity:water on a campaign to raise $95,738.00 in funds and awareness for Haiti's crucial rebuilding efforts. That money will go to the people of Nan Simon, Haiti. With our support (that includes you!), the Nan Simon community will construct 50 latrines, 40 biosand filters, 1 laundry station, 1 animal trough, and 2 hand-washing stations for this project. PWP is banding together to get the word out to 40 million people by getting the world to click, blog, and donate for this amazing cause.
Together, we can show that the media can think long-term and collaborate to create something big. The people of Nan Simon are out to change the world. Are you in?

After being erected this past summer in Tokyo's Odaiba, the life-sized Gundam statue is returning. With an beam saber!!!

Originally, the statue went up in Tokyo's Odaiba last July for the 35th Anniversary of Gundam and was taken down in September. The statue was visited by over 4 million. Amazing!
